So, I took a break from blogging for a while. Albeit a very long break. So much has happened these past few months. Where do I start.
First off. It is stiflingly hot here. Like nearing 100 degrees. I don’t do well in the heat. More on why at a later date. Yet another phase… Ergo, I am sitting here contemplating the next moves.
I did complete the Tourism class at the U of MN. Very insightful and helpful but reminded me that I have not been in school for a very long time.
Then I chaired a successful Olde Tyme Days event in town along with my friends, Mary Lee Lambert and Melisa Ferris. We decided last year to turn up the volume on this arts and culture weekend and ramped up a little more this year. Like where we are headed. More to follow here. Just not today.
I was in a play,”Charlie’s Aunt”. Hard to see but I am the one in the front in the black. Costumed a melodrama for my friend and the director, Melisa Ferris. Made a few more Victorian hats. Went on the Board of the Mantorville Art Guild. I bought an older convertible. Adopted a darling long-haired chihuahua, Gypsy.
Tried out a whole new set of summer recipes, including fresh corn salad and a feta/blackberry salad from Better Homes and Garden’s Annual Favorites. Read some mediocre books, watched up good syfy. And a bunch of other things that are not coming to mind right now.
I used to be organized. Honest. Files for everything. Everything pretty much where it was supposed to be. Yeah well. Not so much right now. So here is my plan: Paint the downstairs bedroom. Bring my favorite costumes home to the closet organizer I have down there for that purpose. Redo the back bedroom and put a real bed in there and get rid of a pile of stuff. Then head into the living room and that huge desk not being used because it is a mess.
I shall sign off for now and get something done.
