It is seriously cold outside. Like -8. So, we stoked up the wood cookstove in the kitchen. The kitchen and family room were cozy and warm. Even the hardwood floors were warm. Of course, the rest of the house was FREEZING.
This photo was taken a few years ago. The stove looks the same and John still has that sweater. Sigh. Pick your battles, I guess.
On to the pizza. We made a pizza–from scratch. The WW crust: About 2+ cups flour ( 3/4 C WW), 1 pkg yeast, 1 cup warm water, 2T oil. Combine and knead for 5 minutes. Rest dough for 5 minutes. Spread on stone over corn meal. Bake 15-20 minutes. Spread with tomato sauce and whatever is in the kitchen. We added cooked sausage, sauteed mushrooms, pepperoni, ripe olives, lots of mozzarella. In the cookstove oven for about 20 minutes. Browned and crunchy. Fabulous.
I would have taken a picture–but the camera battery was dead.
Really wanted to attack the mound of paper on my desk in the living room. Too cold in there. As good an excuse as any I can think of to avoid that gargantuan task. Today, maybe?
